Child injured in East Tilbury collision

A BOY was rushed to hospital withe serious injuries following a collision with a vehicle in East Tilbury.

The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon (29, March).

Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service received reports a child had been injured in a incident on Gloucester Avenue shortly after 4pm.

He was transported to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further assessment and care.

A statement from the ambulance service said: "One ambulance was sent following reports that a child had been injured in a road traffic collision."

Essex Police said: "The child was taken to hospital with serious injuries, not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"The driver involved stopped at the scene and no offences identified."
