ARSONISTS have torched a children's play area in Thurrock.

A statement from Thurrock Council has been issued following last night's (Thursday, 26 January) fire in Little Thurrock.

It says: "Our teams have urgently responded to thousands of pounds worth of children's play equipment that was destroyed at Delafield Play Park in Little Thurrock in the late hours of last night, Thursday 26 January.

"We are working with Essex Police to investigate the intentional burning of a motorbike which caused significant fire damage to the toddler slide and rubber play surfacing at the site, and find those responsible.

"We are also exploring how we can seek to replace this equipment for our residents to once again use.

"If you or anyone you know has any information that could help the council and Police in their investigation, irrespective of how important you think it may or may not be, please contact [email protected]
