A BOROUGH church has extended its welcome to the local community by organising a free day out.

It will take place this coming Saturday (22 August) from 11am to 4pm at Grays Methodist Church on Lodge Lane, where a family fun day for all the community will take place.

Attractions include an entertainer, soft play, crafts, inflatable games, face painter, hook a duck, garden games and a fully equipped gaming bus.

All the activities are free to participate in, no charge for anything. Organisers have decided that even the food will be free of charge.

Church secretary Helen Watts said: "The church is a foodbank distribution centre and we are very aware that a lot of families can't afford to take their children to fun day due to the high cost which is why we wanted to make the whole day absolutely free.

"Parking space is being hired from Hathaway Academy next door to the church."
