Closure announced of Chadwell St Mary's pub

RESIDENTS in Chadwell St Mary have spoken of their disappointment and offered commiserations to the landlords and staff after it was announced the Chadwell Arms pub on Longhouse Road will be closing.

In a statement on social media licensees Chris and Tracey said: "We have some very sad news to share with you all.

"This is not something that we want to happen it is out of our control, we will not only be losing all of our customers that have became friends we lose a pub that we have made for u all to come and enjoy , we lose our jobs and our home

"𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗱𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝘀 will be closing our doors on Sunday, 4 January 2026 at 11pm.

"We want to 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 for choosing our pub as your second home; making the pub a place you can feel happy,safe and cared for somewhere you can be yourself means that our job is worth it.

The Chadwell Arms, also previously known as The Daniels and the Robinson Crusoe.

"You're not just our customers you are our pub family and we will miss seeing your faces.

"We have made so many memories together - this pub means the world to us and that's all because of each and everyone of you so thank you so much.

"We hope to see you for one last drink before we close and will be in the pub on Sunday at 5pm.

"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

Many residents have taken to social media to express their sympathy and disappointment.

No reason has been given for the closure.
