MEMBERS of a borough charity have expressed their gratitude to residents who contributed to fundraising and members of the Rotary Club of Mar Dyke Valley who have offered continued financial support.
At an event this past week Thurrock branch of the Re-engage charity were among a number of local organisations that received donations from the club as it shared out proceeds from its pre-Christmas Santa Sleigh runs around the borough.
Re-engage received £500 and local organiser Loraine Coleman said: "We were one of the very lucky beneficiaries of the funds raised during the Santa Sleigh Run, and we would also like to thank all the wonderful Thurrock residents who donated so generously.

"Our lovely volunteer Sarah Barnes was delighted to receive the cheque, presented by Rotary secretary Graham Dockrill and its chairman Paul Luke.
"The Rotary Club has supported Re-engage Thurrock for many years, and we deeply appreciate their continued generosity. Their support enables us to keep providing free tea parties for our older Thurrock residents, helping to reduce loneliness and offer much-needed companionship.
"Thank you to all who donated and the club members for making such a meaningful difference."
