College calling for engineers to share their knowledge

SOUTH Essex College, which has a major campus in the centre of Grays, is looking for experienced professionals from the engineering and construction industry to train to become teachers.
The college is looking for individuals who have excellent organisational skills plus an abundance of enthusiasm and patience. Candidates must be qualified tradespeople with specialist industry knowledge.
David Kellar, Head of Engineering and Construction, said: "Tradespeople have worked for years to perfect their working skills and abilities, we really want to tap into this experience and make sure young local people learn from the absolute best in industry.
"We're searching for people who want to share their knowledge & experience to better a young person's future. They must be able to relate well to students and have a minimum of three years' experience in their trade."
The trainee teachers will enrol on a full support programme enabling them to develop their teaching skills. The positions can be full or part time with a competitive salary. Experienced, qualified teachers earn circa £35k plus the following benefits: a teacher pension, 40 days' annual leave, college closure days, college sickness pay, car parking permits and cycle to work schemes.
