SOUTH Essex College is offering a range of free courses for unemployed people to help them return to the workplace.

The college's iLearn courses cover subjects such as accounting, childcare, health and social care, forklift, hospitality, office skills and security.

iLearn consists of a three-week programme that combines the college's iPrep course (skills for work) with the training and qualifications needed to start a career in your chosen industry.

The courses are free to those who are unemployed and in receipt of Universal Credit or similar benefits. It is also free to those who are working and earning under £16,009.50 per year.

Nicky O'Brien, Workforce Adult Skills Manager, said: "These courses offer an excellent opportunity to transform CVs and boost employment opportunities. Previous students have told us that the course transformed their life by building their confidence and getting them qualified for the workplace."

Reviews from students studying the courses include 'I really enjoyed this training programme, it was great. The tutors and assessors were very helpful and understanding' and 'Very positive course, I feel more confident with my skills and knowledge going into the workplace now.'
