TILBURY'S Christmas lights switch on is once again set to draw a big crowd to the Civic Square.

They will be turned on at around 6pm on Friday, 6 December after an early evening of entertainment involving local school choirs, taking to the main stage which will be compered by town stalwart Les Morgan.

The fun starts at4.30pm with the arrival of father Christmas who will then walk to his Magical Grotto in the Sunshine Centre. It's £1.50 per child to visit Santa.

A variety of refreshments will be available and there will be the usual funfair rides.

A spokesperson for the organisers says: "Thanks to EMR, Tilbury Hub, Thurrock Council, Port of Tilbury, Grays Public Purposes and Recreational Charity and everyone for their kind donations to make the Tilbury Lights happen again."
