Council acts to stop industrial site burning

By Neil Speight 4th Jul 2022

ACTION instigated by a ward councillor has led to a visit by enforcement officers who have warned a Purfleet company they cannot burn waste on their site.

West Thurrock councillor Qaisar Abbas has reported Thurrock Council's public protection team has visited the site on Botany Way and advised the operators in relation to the burning of material and warned them to desist from such activity.

Cllr Abbas says: "I am not aware of any further reports of burning and believe that this multi-service approach has remedied the activity which has caused nuisance to residents."
