RESIDENTS in Aveley have expressed their delight after Thurrock Council agreed to donate trees to improve local parks.

Last month the Friends of Aveley and Kenningtons Parks expressed their delight when the council offered to plant a tree, prompting a message of thanks and the plea: 'Hopefully it's the start of lots more to come'.

And within days more have come!

Local community stalwart Teresa Webster says: "We have been liaising with Thurrock Council with regards to having some more trees in the Aveley Rec.

"Well, there's great news! we have been advised that we are getting another four trees! Malus Evereste and Ostrya Carpinifolia with creamy flowers. Well done and thanks to Thurrock Council."
