THURROCK Council is unable to meet all enquiries from residents following technical problems with its systems.

Over the weekend most online services operates by the council were not working due to what what described as 'essential electrical maintenance' but it was expected things would rerun to normal today (Monday, 24 January.

However, that has not proved possible and a message on the council's website says: "Due to a technical problem, we are currently unable to help with some enquiries made by phone or email.

"Our online housing service for rent statements, housing applications and bidding for properties is also unable to provide information at present.

"We expect to fix the problem by Wednesday, 26 January and thank you for your patience until then.

"We apologise for any inconvenience."
