THURROK Council's Healthy Lifestyle Service are providing free information sessions to help residents quit smoking succesfully.
Free in-person drop-in sessions at the Civic Offices, Grays, will allow anyone who lives or work in Thurrock to ask questions, seek guidance, and get more information on the local 'Swap to Stop' offer and other stop smoking advice.
Thurrock Healthy Lifestyle Service will be holding two events on Tuesday, 8 October and Wednesday, 16 October from 11.30am to 2pm, as part of Stoptober.
Stoptober is the Department of Health and Social Care's annual stop smoking campaign, based on evidence that by going 28 days smoke-free you're five times more likely to quit for good.
Cllr Mark Hooper, cabinet member for health and well-being said: "Quitting smoking is one of the best things to do not just for your health but also your loved ones around you, and Stoptober is a fantastic opportunity to quit smoking.
"Even if you've tried quitting before, give it another go this Stoptober.
"There's no need to go it alone, Thurrock Healthy Lifestyle Service is on hand to provide free support, guidance, and advice.
"It's never too late to stop smoking. As a council we want to ensure that our residents have the right support and services to live a healthy lifestyle."
