Cllr Ben Maney has promised a further investigation into parking issues.

THURROCK Council says it will make an assessment of ongoing issues on a Grays street where parking has proved problematic for residents – and also the emergency services.

At the weekend Thurrock Nub News reported on the latest concerns by residents and asked Thurrock Council what it knew about the problems.

Today (Thursday, 4 February) we received a response from the portfolio holder for highways and transport, Cllr Ben Maney, who said: "Thurrock Council installed keep clear markings at Dukes Avenue in Grays around 2007 to highlight the road's access points.

"The council carried out an area wide consultation for Grays Thurrock ward in 2019. As a result of this process, a scheme to restrict parking at the entrance to Dukes Avenue was proposed and implemented in January 2020.

"The impact of the scheme has been monitored and recent enquiries will be assessed to understand if additional measures are required."
