THURROCK Council has backed a scheme which is helping to spread out the cost of a new bike this festive season through the Tilbury ForwardMotion Cycle Hub's Christmas Club.

Thurrock residents and those living outside the borough can all benefit from the offer on any bike at the Tilbury Cycle Hub, which is based at 43 Calcutta Road and run by ForwardMotion – a collaborative initiative between Thurrock, Essex and Southend-on-Sea councils.

To join the Christmas Club, participants must provide a minimum 10 per cent deposit on a new bike or £10 deposit on a recycled bike but can pay as much or as little off the balance as they want before Wednesday, 18 December 2019.

Anyone who purchases a bike under the Christmas Club will need to initially supply photo ID and complete a signed agreement. Bikes will then be stored free of charge up to Saturday, 21 December which is the final day that bikes can be collected from the Hub prior to Christmas. The Hub will reopen after the festive period on Friday, 3 January 2020.

Tilbury Cycle Hub opens to the public on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am to 3pm; and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.
