Council's top brass in the chair for residents' questions at next event

By Nub News Reporter 31st Jan 2025

PEOPLE in Thurrock are being given the opportunity to quiz council leaders when the authority hosts its second public question time event for borough residents and businesses on Tuesday, 25 February at Harris Academy Ockendon.

Elected members of the council's cabinet and officers from the senior leadership team will be on hand to answer questions, and update residents on the council's plans.

There will be an opportunity to ask about plans for the area; a local issue or concern; or make a suggestion for how the council could do things differently.

Officers and members of partner organisations will be available to offer cost of living advice and support as part of the borough's Thurrock Cares campaign.

Questions submitted at the first event, along with the answers to these questions can be found on the council's website: Ask the Council - Public Question Time.

To book a place, you are advised to register, as places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Anyone who has not registered by 5pm on Friday, 21 February will not be admitted.

A statement from the council adds: "We would like this to be a welcoming and inclusive event where everyone feels comfortable asking their question. Therefore, anyone submitting offensive questions or comments will not be offered a place."
