By Nub News Reporter 19th Jun 2025

THURROCK'S Thameside Complex will play host to a day of making music on Saturday (21 June).

'Make Music Day' is a free event celebrating music, creativity and local talent, bringing the community together through live performances, drop-in workshops, and hands-on creative fun for the whole family.

Live performances will include:

John Paul Elliott – emotive singer-songwriter known for heartfelt vocals and acoustic guitar

JB Rose – celebrated soul and R&B artist performing original tracks and classics with smooth delivery

Thurrock Voices – the borough's much-loved community choir, returning with uplifting group harmonies

Madeleine from RBO – stunning classical vocals from Royal Ballet Opera's rising star

Holly Hannigan – acoustic singer with a beautiful tone and original music to match

Tommy Raven – local favourite whose music fuses indie, folk and lyrical storytelling

MSN Sound Crowd – youth-led collective performing original tracks and live arrangements

TK Harmony – powerful gospel harmonies to close the day with joy and unity

Also performing will be Green Bell, Kerem Goral, Esther Farinde and Creative Blast Performing Arts Academy

Expect a broad mix of styles, from soulful ballads and opera to musical theatre, acoustic indie, and community choirs.

This is a celebration of Thurrock's musical heartbeat – and everyone is welcome from 11am to 4pm.

Alongside the music, enjoy hands-on activities and family-friendly workshops:

– Family Fiesta Arts & Crafts – get creative with our drop-in craft tent

– Conductive Music – explore sound and technology through interactive music-making

– Drumming Workshops – open sessions where all ages can join the rhythm

– Singing Sessions with Madeleine from RBO – an inspiring opportunity to warm up your voice and sing together
