Death of celebrity businessman and TOWIE ex Mick Norcross

By Neil Speight 21st Jan 2021

THE death has been confirmed this evening of celebrity, nightclub owner, property developer and businessman Mick Norcross.

Police and emergency services have been at his Bulphan home. Essex Police said in a statement: "We were called to an address in Brentwood Road, Bulphan shortly before 3.15pm on Thursday, 21 January.

"Sadly, a man inside was pronounced dead. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Earlier today Mr Norcross, 57, posted on his Twitter account: "At the end remind yourself that you did the best you could. And that is good enough."

The Essex businessman became nationally known in the early series of the TV fly-on-the-wall reality docu-soap The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) which also featured his son Kirk. He has other sons Daniel and Mason.

He joined the cast of TOWIE in the early series, appearing alongside his son as well as other soon-to-be famous faces like Mark Wright, Gemma Collins and Lucy Mecklenburgh. He quit the reality show in 2013, revealing he'd had enough and that he believed the show was damaging the reputation of the Sugar Hut.

Mr Norcross grew up in the Woodside area of Grays. He attended St Thomas Primary and then St Cedd's in South Ockendon.

He worked in his family firm before branching out with a number of business enterprises, which included the Sugar Hut Nightclub in Brentwood.
