Emotional moments as dementia event raised awareness and offered support to local community.

EMOTIONAL moments and words of support and encouragement were shared at Thurrock's Town Hall today (Tuesday, 19 May) when the Alzheimers Society hosted an awareness event.

It was part of Dementia Action Week, which runs until Sunday, 25 May,

Among 'Lived experience' speakers was Paul Harvey who gave a personal recollection of the impact of young onset dementia.

Available throughout the day were interactive tabletop activities, factsheets, publications and legal and rights information.

Also on hand were helpful everyday products that support independence and well-being.

The event will also offer the opportunity to support the Alzheimer's Society Forget Me Not appeal.

Dementia help and advice is on hand at Alzheimers Society led event at Grays Town Hall today.
