PERMISSION has been granted to divide a property in Stanford-le-Hope into two and create a new three bed home and a house of multiple ocupancy (HMO) for six people.

The scheme on Southend Road was put before Thurrock Council's planning department in November.

Planners have overruled objections by three near neighbours who spoke of road safety concerns and the impact of the new development on their homes in an already built-up area.

They said that an HMO development in that part of Stanford was undesirable.
