Dock approach road crash victim is named

POLICE have named a man who died following a collision in Tilbury on Monday, 21 September when a blue Volkswagen Crafter van was in collision with a stationary HGV on the A1089 Dock Approach Road heading towards the A13.

The https://thurrock.nub.news/n/police-confirm-death-of-man-in-dock-approach-road-crash accident happened shortly after 3.35pm and a passenger in the van died at the scene.

He has been named as Douglas Edgar, 25, from Barton Seagrave, Kettering.

The van driver remains in hospital receiving treatment.

The driver of the HGV was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation while police carry out further enquiries.

Any drivers who were in the area at the time and have dash cam footage of the incident or saw what happened are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email [email protected], quoting incident 764 of 21 September.
