ESSEX Police are continuing with their pre-Christmas road safety and speeding blitz, having already recorded 568 offences on the region's roads, including one driver travelling at 130mph on the A13.

Policing teams have been out across Essex tackling dangerous speeding and last week, officers enforced limits and spoke with drivers at key locations, including school sites.

Among the offences recorded:

  • A130 – highest speed recorded 127mph
  • A13 – shocking 130mph
  • A414 – new 50mph limit enforced, 180 vehicles checked

Adam Pipe, Head of Roads Policing, said: "The speeds we've seen are unacceptable.

"Our teams will continue to be out across Essex targeting those who pose a risk, particularly over the Christmas period. Please slow down – it could save a life."
