Driver escaped after pursuit down A13 on wrong carriageway

DESPITE involvement of a number of police cars, the driver of a car that made a late night dash down the wrong side of the A13 carriageway on Thursday evening remains at large.
He abandoned his vehicle near the North Stifford junction but evaded arrest in the incident that happened beyween 11pm and midnight.
A statement from Essex Police says: "Officers followed a vehicle following intelligence that it was using cloned plates.
"It failed to stop when requested and was monitored by officers.
"It went onto the A13 and the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. He is still to be located, but we are investigating."
