Local News by Nub News Reporter 14th Feb 2026

VOLUNTEERS from the Orchards Community Forum were out again this morning (Saturday, 14 February) clearing fly tipping, and other rubbish, from alleyways around Elm Road, Oak Road and Grove Road.

They were joined by local councillor John Kent - who regularly joins the forum alley clean.

He said: "I am really grateful for those volunteers who join us month in and month out to help clear rubbish that is thoughtlessly dumped in our community.

"This morning, between us, we managed to almost fill a four tonne wagon in just over an hour!"

The Orchard Forum alley cleans take place on the second Saturday of each month. The next session will be on 14 March - meeting at 9am in the car park by the Elm Road Open Space and finishing with a hot drink in the Grays Town Park Cafe.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
