DRAMATIC early morning scenes in East Tilbury were played out where a man was arrested for making a 'threat to kill'.

The incident happened soon after midnight on Monday, 24 June when police raced to a residents' car park in Arun.

Residents were awoken by police arrivals and noise as a man was forced to the ground by officers.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We attended an address in Arun, East Tilbury, shortly before 12.45am on Monday, 24 June in relation to alleged threats to kill against a man.

"The victim reported threats had been made against him by several individuals.

"A 28-year-old man, from Tilbury, was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.

"He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue."
