Early morning fire at Tilbury flats block is tackled by crews

THREE teams of firefighters were called to a fire in a block of flats in Tilbury in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, 23 August).

The incident happened at Dunedin House on the corner of Calcutta Road and Bermuda Road.

A sattement from Essex Fire and Rescue says: "We were called to Calcutta road, Tilbury at 1.56am.

"On arrival, crews confirmed there was a fire in a top floor flat. Firefighters extinguished the fire by 3.13am."
