CONSERVATIVE councillor Sue Sammons retained her seat in East Tilbury by a margin of 34 votes in the first result declared on the night.

Jacqueline Dobson (Labour) 250

Susan Sammons (Conservative) 639

Neil Speight (Independent) 605

Majority 34

Turnout 28.38%
