Easter effort sees a huge haul of litter by the riverside

THE litter-picking Grays Beachcombers were out and about this morning on the riverside by the Thames in Grays.

The community-minded volunteers picked all along the river front.

In all they collected 28 sacks of rubbish including more than180 single use plastic drink bottles - "Thank you to every one of you!" said co-ordinator Steve Catchpole afterwards.
