A LEADING Thurrock councillor has praised Impulse Leisure for its efforts to ensure Thurrock's vulnerable children receive a special treat this Easter.

Through its 'Do Good, Feel Good This Easter' campaign, Impulse Leisure is offering 50% off joining fees on gym memberships for those who donate two boxed Easter eggs. Those who donate four boxed Easter eggs can start a membership without paying a joining fee.

All donated chocolate eggs will be distributed to vulnerable children across Thurrock, including those in care.

Cllr Vikki Hartstean, cabinet member for Children's Services and Education, visited Impulse Leisure's Blackshots site to thank staff and see some of the 500 Easter eggs that have already been collected.

Donations can be made at the following Impulse Leisure locations until Friday 11 April:

  • Blackshots Leisure Centre – Blackshots, Grays, RM16 2JU
  • Corringham Leisure Centre – Springhouse Road, SS17 7NB
  • Belhus Park Golf & Country Club – South Ockendon, RM15 4PX

More information on the Do Good Feel Good This Easter offer can be found on the Impulse Leisure website.

Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet Member for Children's Services and Education, said: "I want to thank Impulse Leisure for their tremendous work in supporting our vulnerable children. The 'Do Good, Feel Good This Easter' campaign highlights the strength and generosity of our community.

"The kindness shown by our borough never fails to amaze me, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has already donated to this important cause.

"Visiting Blackshots and seeing the overwhelming support first-hand was heart warming. I encourage anyone considering a gym membership to take advantage of this fantastic offer—it's a wonderful way to start your fitness journey while making a meaningful difference in a child's Easter."

Karl Hayes, Managing Director for Impulse Leisure said: "We believe in the power of community and the joy that simple acts of kindness can bring.

"Our Easter Egg Campaign is not just about encouraging adults to stay active, but also about spreading smiles and bringing delight to the children in care.

"By participating in this initiative, we hope to create a ripple effect of happiness and well-being, making a positive impact on both the physical and emotional health of our community.

"Together, we can make a difference and bring joy to those who need it most."
