Updated: Emergency services attend incident in Purfleet. Man is injured but it's not life-threatening

EMERGENCY services including firefighters, ambulance crews and police are currently deployed at an incident in Purfleet.

It is on an industrial site off Botany Way.

An alert was raised around 11.30am when emergency services were advised of 'a major trauma incident'.

The air ambulance landed on waste ground in Purfleet

The air ambulance was deployed and senior medics landed on a nearby plot of open land near Purfleet rail station.

They were ferried to the scene of the incident.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called to reports of an industrial incident in Botany Way, Purfleet at around 11.35am today (Friday, 3 March).

"A man has sustained a serious leg injury but it is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"He has been taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing."

Nub News understands that the man was working underneath a car when the axle stand holding the vehicle collapsed and it fell on him.
