Emergency services' late night call out in numbers to situation in Stanford-le-Hope

POLICE and the ambulance service have given some details of an incident last evening which attracted a large number of emergency vehicles to a residential area of Stanford-le-Hope.

Five ambulance service vehicles and a number of police care attended Branksome Avenue on the Homesteads estate.

Essex Police have confirmed they attended after being contacted at 10.38pm but said they were there to assist the East of England Ambulance Service.

A statement from the ambulance service says: "We responded to an emergency call shortly after 22.00 regarding an incident at Branksome Avenue, Stanford-le-Hope.

"We sent four ambulances and a rapid response car. One patient was transferred to Basildon & Thurrock Hospital for further care."

No further information or update has been given.
