Evening fun and games was very n'ice

VISITORS and residents cooled down with ice creams during the Re-engage charity's latest gathering at Headon Hall in Stifford Clays.

Re-engage supports lonely eldery and vulnerable people across the borough by organising social events including afternoon teas. Guests are driven to the events from their homes by volunteer drivers, who also support colleagues in hosting the event.

The latest was a games afternoon and volunteer Paula said: "What a treat for our ladies on this hot summer's Re-engage Games Night.

"We played Scrabble and card games plus we had our usual knit and natter corner. We welcomed a new guest Sheila. A fun evening out for all.

"Thank you as always to the volunteer drivers Liz, Ros, Rekha, Antony, Angie for their care and support of our guests.

Regional co-ordinator Loraine Coleman added: "Wow, what a perfectly lovely summer evening playing games and enjoying a delicious ice cream.

"Thank you so much Paula for always making these monthly evenings so special for our guests. Thank you to all our lovely volunteers for driving and caring for our guests. Happy summer everyone."
