THE coming weekend will see an event held at Thurrock Thameside Nature Park which may prove to be a big help to local families.

The 'Warrior Workshop' is a one hour event for children aged five to 15 on Saturday, 11 January from 2.30pm.

It will include guided meditation that will help children with anger, frustration and stress, teaching how to communicate well and resolve conflicts, studies prove meditation significantly lower levels of self hostility, negative thoughts and feelings.

A spoksperson for the event said: "Meditation allows us to be in control of our mind and body rather than the other way round.

"Regular meditation will make children more aware of emotions and sensations and will help with anxiety, it also improves concentration and confidence.

"The class will involve lots of activities that develop these skills in a kind positive manner.

"We will do many variations of mindfulness.

The children will be taught how to become aware of their own nature."
