THURROCK'S Community and Voluntary Services (CVS) organisation is supporting a number of initiatives to improve health and well-being in the borough.

CVS supports local organisations and community groups in Thurrock by working behind the scenes to ensure the long term future of essential services delivered by the voluntary sector.

Among the events being supported and promoted is an opportunity for young people to engage in health matters.

A 'Young Healthwatch' pizza and chat event will be hosted by Thurrock Healthwatch at the Beehive Resource Centre on West Street, Grays RM17 6XP on Monday, 22 of January between 430 and 6.30pm.

It's an opportunity to talk about health and social care in your area.

There will also be the facility to make a contribution to your area by signing up as a Young Healthwatch Ambassador. Please note that carers are welcome and anyone thinking of attending is encouraged to take along a friend if they would like.

If you have any questions about the event or becoming an ambassador, then email: [email protected]. Sign up for the event here: http://tinyurl.com/2fvww6ca.

Another event being promoted is an online session planned for  Tuesday, 30 January from 10 to 11:30am.

Included in the 'Let's Talk' event will be a short presentation and discussion about Thurrock Frontline, the new, secure multi-agency digital referral and signposting platform for both services, including the voluntary sector and general public.

A spokesperson for the CVS added: "As it's the start to the New Year, come along and hear about the forthcoming TCVS plans and opportunities for the sector, including an update on the Strength of the Sector report and new Digital Technology survey."

You can book your place via this link: http://tinyurl.com/4dp54x6j.

The service is also supporting and promoting the Thurrock Healthwatch Maternity Matters Survey

Healthwatch Thurrock is interested in hearing your maternity stories.

Residents are invited to complete an online survey and views contributed will help to better local services for the future: https://airtable.com/appmxTqWoY5e4USzb/shr24bFx0snNnr41i

Submit your survey by 29th February 2024 and you'll be entered into a draw to win a £50 voucher.
