AN extraordinary meeting about the management of health care across Mid and South Essex will take place next week.
The meeting of NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) will be held on Thursday, 16 October and has been called following government-instigated plans to change way local management takes place.
It follows a development reported on Nub News recently when it was revealed the man currently in charge of the local ICB, Tom Abell, is to get a wider role.
NHS Mid and South Essex ICB Board meetings are held as meetings in public, and members of the public are welcome to attend and listen. However, this extraordinary meeting will be online only via Microsoft Teams and will take place from 12.30pm to 13.30pm.
The Board will be considering a key item of business regarding transitional governance arrangements, aimed at strengthening collaboration with Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB and Suffolk and North East Essex ICB. This is in preparation for the proposed closure of the Mid and South Essex ICB on 31 March 2026 and the establishment of a proposed new ICB covering the Essex geography from 1 April 2026.
Members of the public can join the live meeting by accessing a MS Teams link or watch the meeting back as a recording that will be available to view on the website after the meeting. Anyone who would like to attend live should register on the NHS Mid and South Essex website: https://www.midandsouthessex.ics.nhs.uk/events/icb-board-meeting-16-october-2025-2/
The Board papers for this extraordinary meeting will be published on the ICB website.
While there isn't an opportunity to comment or ask questions during the meeting, the public can submit questions relating to the agenda item in advance, which the Board will endeavour to answer during the meeting. Where appropriate, any questions not answered will be responded to separately outside of the meeting.
Questions should be submitted in advance, at least three working days prior to the meeting. All questions must be related to the agenda item and should be submitted in writing by post or email to:
- Post: NHS Mid and South Essex ICB, PO BOX 6483, Basildon SS14 0UG
- Email: [email protected]
