Faiths come together to mark week of unity

THURROCK has just celebrated Inter Faith Week, which inbcluded an event where services and faith groups could meet, network and share information.

A number of different faiths and cultures were represented at the session including Church of England Thurrock Deanery, Tilbury Mosque, Thurrock Hindu Temple, Happy Home Ministry, Socketts Heath Baptist Church and The Craig Tyler Trust.

Cllr Qaisar Abbas, cabinet member for culture and communities, also attended the event and spoke to individuals and groups.

Inter Faith Week concludes tomorrow (Sunday, 20 November).

It aims to strengthen good inter-faith relations at all levels, increase awareness of the different and distinct faith communities in the UK, and increase understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs.
