THE family of a man killed in an incident on Stifford Hill earlier this month have paid tribute to him.

Henry Wheatley, 23, died at the scene of a crash on a bend on the hill just before 3am on Friday, 12 June.

He is a member of the local showman community and a tribute released by his family read: "Henry was a dearly loved son, grandson, brother, boyfriend, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

"Henry was good at most things he turned his hand to and worked as travelling showman.

"He enjoyed life to the fullest and will be greatly missed."

His family then gave special thanks to the emergency services and to Darren Taylor from South Ockendon for trying to save Henry.

Essex Police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to Mr Wheatley's death and have issued the following message: "If you saw anything, have any CCTV or dash cam footage, or have any other information in relation to the collision please call us on 101 quoting incident 104 of 12 June or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
