The children and teachers at Quince Tree Day Nursery in South Ockendon have kicked off their FIFA World Cup 2026 celebrations by designing and creating their very own World Cup mascot.

They used recycled materials and drew around one of the children then they added some child sized clothing to the mascot whilst colouring the mascot in.

As they worked together to make the mascot, the children also learned about some of the different countries taking part in the World Cup, exploring their cultures, traditions, and celebrations from around the world.

A spokesperson said: "Teaching children about different countries and cultures helps them develop an understanding and appreciation of the wider world."
