Fire alert at Corringham store was false alarm

ESSEX Fore and Rescue Service has confirmed that a late night call to to a Corringham town centre store was a false alarm.

Residents in tge area were alerted to tge issue just before midnight when crews attended theBoots shop on St John's Walk.

A fire service spokesperson confirmed: "This was a false alarm for us, we sent crews and it was the smoke cloak going off."
