Firearm found in Aveley home. Police probe continues

ESSEX Police have now released information about an incident in Aveley which saw a property cordoned off for a couple of days with police officers on site.

It happened in Dacre Avenue in Aveley.

A statement issued today (Saturday, 2 October) says: "We were called to reports of a firearm being discovered in a garage at about 2pm on Thursday, 30 September.

"It was reported that the item was found in a garage while a property was being cleared out.

"Specialist officers attended and made the firearm safe. It has been seized.

"Our enquiries are ongoing."
