Firefighters deal with Grays Mall blaze

FIREFIGHTERS using breathing apparatus tackled a fire in Grays Shopping Centre this afternoon (Sunday, 3 April).

It was discovered just before 2pm and is believed to have started in a mobile phone shop. The fire was contained but the shop suffered significant smoke damage.

Three appliances attended. The centre was evacuated and Clarence Road closed while the incident was dealt with.
