Firefighters tackled waste lorry fire that blocked A13

THREE teams of firefighters dealt with a lorry fire on the A13 westbound carriageway just before 4pm today (Thursday, 9 October).

The road was closed while crews tackled the blaze on a small caged waste lorry.

Significant delays built up on the A13 and adjacent roads through Stanford-le-Hope as traffic diverted.

One lane on the A13 was open by 4.25pm.
