A BOROUGH pub will be closing its doors for a week of refurbishment tomorrow (Sunday, 27 September).

The Five Bells Harvester, just off the A13 junction it gives its name to, will shut this evening and the family-friendly venue will not reopen until Saturday, 3 October.

A statement on the venue's website says: "We will be closing for a short time for some essential maintenance work but we will be back open, ready and waiting for you on the 3rd of October."

Drinkers and diners who used to have two venues to choose from on the roundabout will have none for a week.

The Haywain bar and restaurant closed to the general public on 10 September

Earlier this month the bar and restaurant at the Haywain Beefeater shut down as part of a national change of strategy by its owners Whitbread.

The Haywain was one of 106 stand-alone Beefeater sites linked to Premier Inns that was included in a five-year plan to cut costs.

The last meals and drinks to visitors were served on 10 September and the dining area is now used solely for resident guests and it is likely part of the former 'pub' will be converted into more bedrooms.
