By Nub News Reporter 4th Jun 2024

TO mark the beginning of pride week in Thurrock - which culminates in the Pride Festival on Saturday (8 June) the 'Progress Flag' was raised at the Civic Offices in Grays yesterday (Monday, 3 June).

Borough Mayor Cllr Kairan Raper presided at a short ceremony and raised the flag, supported by members of the local LGBTQ+ community,. Thurrock Council Staff Network members and Thameside Theatre and Library staff.

Staff and volunteers at the Thameside Theatre, where Saturday's festival will be based, have been busy cleaning up the frontage of the complex and creating Pride artwork to support the event.
