Flyover was closed as police managed incident

By Nub News Reporter   30th Dec 2024

MOTORISTS heading east on the A13 were advised of an incident that blocked both carriageways at the Pitsea interchange this morning (Monday, 30 December). It reopened around 8.30am.

The A132 South Mayne was also closed due to the incident which began at 7.20am.

A spokesperson from Essex Police has confirmed that there were concerns for the welfare of someone which led to the closure of Pitsea flyover.

There was a diversion in operation, via the nearby slip roads.

The incident was concluded around 9am when the roads were reopened, though it was expected to take a short while for the backlog to clear.
