A NEW gym in Thurrock has been endorsed by Tilbury-born professional footballer Harry Pell.

The seal of approval to the new venture from Chadwell St Mary man Ryan Worthington was given on a recent visit by the 28-year-old Colchester United midfielder, who was picked up as a seven-year-old by Charlton Athletic and went through the Addicks' youth system before making his professional first team debut with Bristol Rovers,

He went on to have spells with Hereford United, AFC Wimbledon and Cheltenham Town, who he helped to win the National league title in 2016. He joined Colchester United in 2018 and was named club captain for the current season.

Harry has always stayed close to his Thurrock roots and is currently using the new Vitality and Mind gym set up in Horndon on the Hill by Chadwell fitness expert Ryan to further build on his fitness.

The new gym officially opened its doors for the first time on Saturday and is already proving popular.
