FOLLOWING an arson incident in the week, Grays councillor Cllr Martin Kerin has called on Thurrock Council to give details of when it plans to complete the longrunning improvement works at a number of tower blocks cloe to the Thames.
As reported on Thurock Nub News, last Wednesday (25 July) firefighters had to attend and tackle a small blaze set amind scaffolding surrounding Arthur Toft House.,
Grays Riverside councillor Martin Kerin has been a vocal critic of the council and has previously slammed the delays and risks caused to residents by the botched regeneration project.
After the latest incdient he said: "I am beyond disappointed to see that a fire has been started deliberately in my ward.
"I thank the emergency services for the assistance they gave to my residents and am relieved that no one was hurt.
"It is clear to all living in the south Grays tower blocks that this and other anti-social issues have been exacerbated by the delays in the refurbishment programme and the continued presence of scaffolding.
"With this in mind, I will be seeking urgent assurances from Thurrock Council as to when my residents can expect to get their lives back to normal."
