A NEW 10K run will be the centrepiece of a new fun day planned for Grays.

Grays Riverside Community Big Local and Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions are organising forces behind the event taking place at Kilverts Field on Sunday, 7 September.

The invitation is out for residents to come together for a community day of family fun which also includes a 3k family fun run and many craft and food stalls. Find out more and enter via this link.

The minimum age to compete in the 10K is 15 years old. It is a single loop course and will mainly take place on roads and pavements around the town.

• The route will be clearly marked at every kilometre, and marshals will support and encourage every participant to the finish line
• The challenge will take place on the road and the pavements. The roads at the start of the challenge will be closed, and thereafter participants will be directed onto the pavements
• All participants are advised to only cross the roads where the marshals are positioned
• A water station will be available on the route, and refreshments will be provided at the finish line
• The event will be chip timed and photographed
• There is a unique medal for every participant who crosses the finish line, and trophies for category winners

The advance online registration fee is £10 (via this link), on the day the fee £15.

However, if you wish to take part in the 3k family fun run registration will be held on the day with free entry for under 15 and £2 for adults.
