SCHOOLS in the borough who might be planning a trip to an environmental or heritage site have been remined they can get funds to help with transport costs through the Land of the Fanns Landscape Partnership Scheme's School Transport Fund.

The partnership Scheme is a scheme aimed at engaging the local communities of Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Thurrock, Brentwood and south-west Essex with the natural, geological, archaeological and built heritage of their local area.

The region is rich in fascinating places to visit for all school age groups and the partnership is keen to help schools ensure that pupils can visit. The fund is open to all schools within the Land of the Fanns area but applications must be made and trips taken before March 2022.

Schools within the Scheme's area can apply for help towards transport costs for local heritage and outdoor educational visits through funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for KS1- 4.

The application process is simple and quick and details of how to apply can be found via this link.

The Land of the Fanns team can be contacted by email: [email protected].
