THE Tilbury to Gravesend ferry is likely to be suspended for up to two days from tomorrow morning (Tuesday, 24 August).

A severe force 9 gale is expected along the south coast and Thames tomorrow which is likely to bring winds of up to 50mph.

This is expected to cause severe travel disruption across the country. A yellow wind warning is now in place with the Met office.

The ferry will therefore be suspended on Tuesday morning after the 9am sailing from Gravesend to Tilbury (9.10am) crossing and will remain suspended until at least the Wednesday 10.05am from Gravesend crossing.

It is also likely that there will be further cross river traffic disruption if high winds cause the closure of the QEII bridge at the Dartford crossing.
