A DAY of action will take place in a local community next month when volunteers are being sought to help support a local park.
The Friends of Bonnygate Park on Daiglen Drive, South Ockendon, will be painting fences and goalposts, sprucing up planters and carrying out a host of other tasks at the park on Saturday, 24 October between 10am and 4pm.
"We have the materials, we just need the hands. Make a difference and come and join us," say the Friends. "We will be providing all PPE and materials including hand sanitiser, face masks, gloves and overalls.
"Our plan is to hopefully have a few groups of six spread out socially distanced, separately working in locations around the park to adhere to current government guidelines.
"If you can spare a few hours to work with us to improve the park, you could be a skilled tradesman or just have some spare time and want to help make a positive change to our community, please get in touch and come along."

For organisational and safety reasons anyone planning on joining the action day is asked to email [email protected] and registering with your name, email, phone number and times available to attend throughout the day.
